With the number of available homes for sale in the DC metro area at the lowest point in six years and only 3.28 months of available inventory (compared to over 6 months nationally), the prospect of increased development in the area in 2012 combined with interest rates at continued historic lows are reasons for great optimism for the region’s real estate market.

Atlas Lofts becomes fastest selling condo project in DC’s “H Street Corridor"

Washington, DC (October 14, 2011) – TTR Sotheby's is pleased to announce that the Atlas Lofts project in the H Street NE corridor is one of the fastest selling new homes projects in Washington, DC.

The sales team of Michael Hines and Michele Topel have sold 16 out of 18 units over the last three months, breaking all previous sales records for the area. In addition to setting a blistering sales pace during the normally slow summer months, the units were also sold at the highest price per square foot values in the submarket, creating a new benchmark for condo sales.

The Hines/Topel team identified the project as a distressed bank asset in spring of 2011 and arranged the sale to Potomac Construction Group, who closed on the project in less than 20 days. Firm sells Kalorama residence of the late Senator Edward M. Kennedy

Washington, DC (July 21, 2011) – TTR Sotheby’s International Realty (TTR/SIR) announced today that it has sold the Kalorama home of the late Senator and Mrs. Edward M. Kennedy.

TTR/SIR brokers Jean and Tim Hanan sold the former Kennedy Estate, listed for $6,995,000. The gracious Federal-style home of the late Senator and Mrs. Edward M. Kennedy was complete with grand entertaining spaces that hosted national and international dignitaries, fundraising receptions, and numerous family gatherings.

The home features a large gourmet kitchen and dining room that hosts up to 50 guests. Washington, DC (February 19, 2010) – TTR Sotheby’s International Realty of Washington DC has listed for sale the storied estate of vintner and philanthropist Patricia Kluge, Albemarle House of Charlottesville, Virginia. The list price for the estate is $48 million dollars.

Washington, DC (December 17, 2009) – TTR Sotheby’s International Realty of Washington DC has announced that it has sold 1714 Massachusetts Avenue NWfor $12,000,000, making it the highest priced residential sale in 2009 and the highest since the beginning of 2007 in the District of Columbia.

PARSIPPANY, N.J. (Feb. 9, 2009) – Sotheby’s International Realty Affiliates LLC today announced it grew the office count within its network by more than 10 percent in 2008, ending the year with 10,750 sales associates located in more than 500 offices in 39 countries and territories worldwide.

"According to the National Association of Realtors®, for all of 2008 existing–home sales were 13.1 percent below the transactions recorded in 2007, which is the lowest volume since 1997. In this environment, the Sotheby’s International Realty® brand actually grew its office count by 10.7 percent, demonstrating a true demand for our services in the global arena," said Michael R. Good, president and chief executive officer, Sotheby’s International Realty Affiliates LLC. "As well, we welcomed an additional 1,726 sales associates, which reflects our strength and appeal as a brand. I also am very proud that we received two industry honors in 2008, underscoring the value consumers and our affiliates place on the Sotheby’s International Realty brand and what it has to offer."

Last year saw the addition of 19 firms across 10 states: New Jersey, Utah, Massachusetts, Washington, California, Colorado, Florida, Delaware, New York and North Carolina. As well, 30 Sotheby’s International Realty affiliated companies expanded by opening new offices to widen their market coverage.

Sotheby’s International Realty Opens First Northern Virginia Office in McLean

McLean, Virginia (September 10, 2008) – Sotheby’s International Realty announced today that it is opening its first northern Virginia office in McLean on September 15th.
